St Philip’s Special Assembly Wednesday 4th Oct 2017

St Philip’s school held a very special assembly on Wednesday 4th October and was delighted to welcome back two ex-students who have been very busy since leaving school many years ago.   Karen Oosthuizen and Paul Florence are both members of Surrey Special Olympics and kindly popped along to help 11M deliver an inspiring assembly to the whole school.  Between them they brought along over 10 medals they have won in a range of sports, competing across the UK and on the world stage. They answered some fantastic questions, posed by the students of 11M and even stayed to have their photos taken with some of the year 7 students.

If you would like to get involved with Surrey Special Olympics please contact the school for more details.

The day the SEN team came to St Philip’s for a cup of tea

One wet and miserable August Wednesday (who’d have thought it) the
SEN teams from Achieving for Children descended upon St Philip’s to
help get the school ready for September.
Jacqui, Catherine, Marianna, Laura, Emma, Harriet, Sarah and Senel
were lulled into a false sense of security with a cup of tea before the
hard work started!
Despite the pouring rain, Catherine and Sarah took on the role of official
minibus cleaners. The St Philip’s minibuses are now sparkling;
Catherine and Sarah, however, are very, very wet!
